Weekend Recipe: Homemade Humus

Humus is such a healthy, delicious dip for crackers, pitas, Naan bread, or even tortilla chips.  It’s a great filling for tortillas, too, as you look for healthy, protein-rich snacks for your family.  Instead of buying it next time, why not make your own?  It’s so easy!

Homemade Humus

  • 1-2 cloves garlic, mashed
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 can/16 oz garbanzo beans, rinsed
  • 1/4 c tahini
  • 1/4 c lemon juice
  • 5T olive oil
Mix in a food processor.  Seriously, that’s it.  Next time add some red bell pepper or black olives to try a new flavor.
